AGENT PROVOCATEUR LINGERIE
BACKGROUND

Agent Provocateur was established in 1994 at 6 Broadwick Street, Soho,
London by Joseph Corre, the son of British fashion designer Vivienne
Westwood and the former manager of the Sex Pistols, Malcolm McLaren.
Agent Provocateur has grown to encompass almost 50 stand-alone shops in
the UK. It also operates in 18 other countries, including the US,
Russia, Hong Kong, Dubai, Bahrain and most major countries in Europe.
From the beginning Agent Provocateur lingerie has attempted to bridge that gap
between high eroticism and mainstream respectability. Controversial
advertisements have always formed part of this, with an early advert
featuring Kylie Minogue being restricted to cinemas due to its explicit
nature, but proving a viral marketing triumph on the web.

DESIGNER BRITAIN REVIEW
Agent Provocateur was created by the
son of British designer Vivienne
Westwood and the former manager of Sex Pistols Malcolm McLaren. Agent
Provocateur's
unique philosophy is to attempt to take the pornographic and
sleazy aspect out of
lingerie, and instead cultivate a feeling that passions should be
indulged, life's pleasures enhanced and one's deepest desires unlocked.
It is
essential to this idea that all of the inspirational
creations in the Agent Provocateur lingerie range are made from the best materials, using classic designs that
can enchant and arouse both wearers and their partners. Agent
Provocateur has taken a defiant stance from the beginning. They do not
attempt to compete on price, but instead offer upmarket lingerie
that sets out to shock and express people's erotic
fantasies,
while remaining just about within the mainstream of British designer
fashion.
